Colour blocking czyli szał kolorów

Nie lubię pasteli. Nie ubieram i nie używam ich. Podziwiam za to ludzi, którzy potrafią pastelowe barwy zestawić w harmonijną całość bez tzw efektu "Mdli mnie, ratuj!" 

Wierzę, że na niektórych beże, blade błękity czy pudrowy róż działa uspokajająco i relaksująco. 

Dla mnie zaś motywem przewodnim, zarówno w ubiorze jak i szeroko pojętym "dizajnie", był i jest colour blocking- zestawienie ze sobą kolorów wyrazistych, żywych i solidnych, najczęściej ze sobą kontrastujących. Dla mnie inspirujące, energetyzujące i oko cieszące. Byle tylko nie przesadzić, a jeżeli nawet przesadzać to z pomysłem ;))

I do not like pastel colours. Neither in dressing nor in any other area. However, I do admire people that are able to make it work with the pale palette without achieving an "nauseating" effect.

I do believe that some folks rest and relax better when surrounded by beige, baby blue or powder pink. I can't.

Whatever I am putting on or "designing", the main idea is one: colour blocking. Bunch of solid and vivid,  colours, usually contrasting with each other, does it for me. It is inspiring, it's cheerful it's invigorating.

Yet, it's easy to over do it. But, on the other hand, if overdoing it, let's try make it work, anyway.

Nadchodzi podłoga.../ Here comes the floor...

Okna dachowe? Są. Białe ściany? Są. Ściana z cegły? Jest! Drewniane stropy? Są. Drewniana podłoga? Yyyyy... 

Dylemat był wielki. Podłoga z desek, "prawdziwa" z naturalnym kolorem i widocznymi słojami czy też panele drewnopodobne, jakże wygodniejsze w utrzymaniu, że też o cenie nie wspomnę... (Mówimy tutaj o ponad 100 m2 podłodze, więc cena grała jednak rolę przy wyborze)

I stało się. Już na początku złamałam zasadę "surowce naturalne" i poszłam na ustępstwo. Praktyczne wygrało z naturalnym. I stało się panelowo. Czy żałuję? Może trochę...

Skylights? Checked. Walls painted white? Checked. Red brick wall? Checked! Wooden beams? Checked. Hardwood floor? Hmmmmmmm...

It was a huge dilemma. Flooring made of real wood, with its natural colour and grain pattern or wood-like panels, indisputably more practical and oh-so cheaper. (We are talking about round 100 sqm of flooring, so yeah, the price was important)

And it happend. Only at the begining of making the M 'mine', and I have already bent the standards of "raw materials". I had to compromize. Practicality beat the"nature" and I got panel-floored flat.

Do I regret? Maybe a little...

Początki.../ The beginnings...

Czyżby kolejny blog nałogowego "przemeblowywacza" i amatora eksperymentalnych, wnętrzarskich stylizacji? Obawiam się, że tak :)

Zaglądam do Was* już od dawna, zdjęciowe foldery pękają w szwach a własne M, lekko ogłuszone nadmiarem pomysłów, powoli nabiera kształtów. W bardzo niesystematyczny i niezorganizowany sposób będę się dzielić z Wami rezultatami. Bądź co bądź, to po części Wasza zasługa ;)

Loftowo-nieloftowe poddasze zaczęło "istnieć" 3 lata temu, kiedy to zdecydowałam, że tak, chcę tę część domu rodzinnego dla siebie. 

I wtedy zaczął się cyrk pt. Remont i Urządzanie, utrudnione jeszcze faktem, że przyszła właścicielka (czyli ja) notorycznie "buja się" po świecie, podobno spełniając się zawodowo ;). Cyrk trwa do dziś.

Zapraszam więc "na pokoje".

Would that be yet another blog of a compulsive re-decorator and a fan of experimental interior design? I am afraid so. :)

 have been visiting YOU for a while, my pic files are full and the M, slightly overwhelmed with the excess of ideas, is slowly taking shape. In a manner equally unsystematic and chaotic I will try to share the results with you here, cuz let's be honest, in a way you deserve credit for that as well :)

My loft-like attic came to existence 3 years ago. It was when I decided that, sure, why not, I want that piece of the family house just for myself.

That's how the comedy, titled Restoration and Furnishing, begins.

…And let's not forget the fact that the pseudo-owner (myself) of the attic was notoriously absent as she was roaming round the world, supposedly, fulfilling her career goals ;).

The comedy hasn't finished yet.

I that case, feel free to "wander" about.
